Let Satisfaction Be Your Guide to Weight Loss

Many of us have learned to stop eating when we are full.

If you regularly eat this way, you are probably eating too much. Your body simply does not need that much food (and it will tell you by adding excess fat).

When you feel a hunger signal, eat only until the moment that your body is satisfied, not until your stomach is full.

You have to pay attention because it is a subtle sensation. You will feel:

  • that you are done
  • that you are satisfied
  • that you don’t need/want to eat anymore

This is when you should stop eating. You most likely will need to eat very slowly in order to catch this sensation.

Use this satisfaction as your only guide to when you stop eating. Do you not use what is left on your plate (you can save it for later), what other people are eating, or what you are used to eating as your guide. Use this satisfied sensation as your only guide to stop eating.

If you follow this pattern (eat when you are hungry, stop when you are satisfied), you will experience lasting weight loss.
